Me

I like this picture of myself. Maybe it is because I am wearing pink or maybe it is because I had been working out all summer long and was feeling really good. Or maybe it is just because I look truly happy! :)

New Friends

Isn't it great when you make new friends as an adult? It is even better than it was in kindergarten when you became best friends just be reaching the swings at the same time. I have been lucky to meet some new friends in these classes I am taking this summer. The kind of people you just click with from the first moment you say hello. Whether it is the sound of their voice, their smile, or something unseen, these kind of friends, the kind you know will last a lifetime, are the most valuable.

In just a short week, we are invested in each other's happiness and success. We know about each other's goals and struggles, hopes and dreams. With each conversation we learn more about one another and discover new characteristics in common. This is what life is all about. Meeting others and getting to know them then being able to share ourselves and our lives is what makes life worth living.

Practice Blog

I am not sure how I feel about blogging. It sounds like a good idea in theory but I have reservations. Writing my thoughts on paper can be risky, but not nearly as risky as placing my thoughts online where they can be seen by anyone. I am careful to edit some of my thoughts depending upon my audience. I do not do this to be deceitful or disgenuine, but to protect the feelings of those with whom I converse. I realize that my opinions differ from many of my friends and that the topics of our discussions can be hot topics. I believe in everyone's right to have their own opinions respected regardless of whether or not I agree with them. I don't always feel that I get that same respect in return. I also am not sure how comfortable I am with others knowing ALL of my thoughts. I think it might overwhelm some of my more conservative friends.
